One of his readers, Brendan, his family organizes a yearly 3-on-3 basketball tournament in memory of their father. All proceeds are donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. They contacted all the pro sports franchises in the area, seeking tickets to raffle off. Yankees responded within an hour and donated some seats. The other teams did not step up.
“It is not so much a knock against the other franchises, but it says something impressive about the Yankees,” Brendan wrote.
In my opinion, it's good to hear any person or organization help out people or give back to society when they have that ability.

I believe what A-Rod says
If you want to believe him, you will come away with great reaction. If you don't like him and don't want to believe him, you will find many holes in his answers.
Everyone is different and handles things differently. A-Rod will handle things who he is. As a Yankees fan, I want to give him every opportunity to lead me to believe him. And I did. I believe him and hopefully he tells the true story. At least, most of them are true. I know many people feel many answers from him are not logical.
But, I believe him because I know how hard for anyone to admit his own mistakes. We always come up with million of excuses for our own mistakes. It's very easy to point fingers to others when they make mistakes. But, when you make mistakes, you realize how hard it is to admit.

Relax and Use energy to pray for Joba's father
First of all, nothing is more important than family for me. Joba, take all the time you need. Taiwanese believe God will bless good guys. Your father will get better.
On top of that, We got more injury. Molina got hurt as well and Kids haven't pitched well so far.
Guys, Relax, Are you looking at calendar? Are you sure you are looking at calendar now? It's only April 14th and our Yankees is only 1 game under .500 despite how terrible our offense is, how many injury we have so far and how bad kids have been pitched. Take a deep breath. When you consider how tough April schedule we have, we will be fine if we are able to hang around .500 at the end of April.
I believe my team. Kids will be fine. You have to expect some starts like them from kids which are normal. Hughes and Kennedy will bounce back without doubt. I believe Wang, Pettitte and Moose will carry this team. I saw good signs from our hitters, such as Giambi, Cano. I believe they will score a lot of runs soon. I also believe Jeter and Posada will be back soon. R...E...L...A...X...

Stop worrying about money, just enjoy playing baseball
This is one of reason I am a Yankees fan. It seems Yankees players know what to say. They are doing all the right thing and being classy. No Yankees players complain about their salary issue, including Joba, Wang, Hughes, and Melky. All they worry about is improving themselves and helping Yankees win another Champion.
As a fan, I really don't care how much money players make and I understand playing baseball is their job. We all want to get paid as much as possible no matter what kinds of jobs you have. But, seriously, It must have something else you enjoy while you work. I know, I may be too ideal about this, but Don't complain all the time and let me feel you only play ball for money.
This is just something special for sport. Fans crazily root for their teams and spend all the time and energy on because of passion, not money.
Is it just me to feel this way? When I hear so many young players complaining about their low salary, including Cole Hamels, Nick Markakis, Prince Fielder and Jonathan Papelbon( Man, I don't like this guy at all. Compare yourself to Mo? Are you nuts?), I just want to say "Stop worry about money and enjoy what you do. If you do well, your money will come".

Damm… I hate this…
I have been moving around different places and countries the past 10 years. Because of that, I thought I am very good at making adjustments and getting used to new environment. As you guys know, I love new culture,stuffs and challenges. I got to Australia almost 5 months ago. One thing in Australia I hate and can’t get used to is how to use internet.
In Taiwan(also in America), you pay fixed fee for umlimited internet. You can do whatever you want no matter how long you need online.You even can use internet everywhere in Taiwan. In Australia, You need to calculate usage when you use internet. As long as you stay online and create traffic, you’re using usage. Don’t even think about downloading some music or films. The internet is so experience in Australia because their population is not enough. I can’t image what I can do once baseball season starts.
Right now, I even can’t use internet every day. For example, I posted these couple of posts at my Japanese friends home by using her internet. Sometimes, I need to write my posts in the word format first and post them once I get my chances to use internet. Damm… I hate this…So, please be patient and forgive me if you guys get to my blog and don’t find new posts…Sorry….

I am not a cartoon fan because I don't really get a chance to fall in love with. Because of all my sibling including me having shortsightedness, my mom doesn't allow us to watch too many cartoons when we were children.
Luckily, Charlie Brown and Snoopy is one of few cartoons I know because my old sister, jean, is so crazy about Snoopy. I always remember this picture and remind myself not to make these kind of mistakes. That's why I try to be positive and forgiving about everything or everyone in my life. I try to remember good things people have done instead of remembering bad or negative things all the time. Steal one line from Wang who said that in 2006 after a game which A-Rod had three errors behind him:"No one is perfect"
That's why sometimes I have problems with some comments from some Yankees fans. Of course, I am not perfect, but try my best for that. Great quote. Share with you guys. This picture probably will show up many times during season.

Does Joe Girardi try to send soft messages out?
I don't think too many people can move their eyes away from our new manager Joe Girardi. A lot of news, reports and columns already flood in. The most analysis is all about how the tough, hardworking, organized guy Joe Girardi is. As far as I am concerned, I like what I saw so far from Girardi. Posada even said to reporters he expect Girardi will be tougher and more critical of them than Joe Torre.
Front get-go, first sentence for his first interview on the first workout of Spring training. Joe Girardi said:"This things I prepared for months and bomb here it's...". You can tell from his answers to every reporters' questions. He was well prepared for every words came out his mouth. Every questions is regarding for Joba's position as a setup man or a starting pitcher. He never change his answer. One time he even correct himself and rearrange few words he says about Joba.
In addition, Girardi not only mentions couple of reporters' names during the whole interview but also cracks up few jobs along the way.
Couple of things I saw so far from Girardi are great. I don't know he does them by nature or by design, but I like them. He makes sure to answer questions as short as he can. I believe the less he says, the less mistakes he makes and the less stories reporters or talk show hosts can write or talk about. He also said his message to players is simple: "healthy and care about him"
The most impressive thing he has done is sending some soft messages out to players.
First of all, He brings all three kids to camp with him. He and his wife are playing with them on the field after workout every day. His kids wrote some words down and drew some pictures on the board. They said:"We love you, dad. You are the best".
Secondly, The first thing he told to all pitchers was not trying too hard now. Take it easy and tell them you can't make the team in two days. He understand players are eager to impress people, but it's easy for them to get hurt when their arm strength is not there yet.
Thirdly, He not only spent 30 minutes with Kei Igawa in order to understand him more but also said the most impressive thing he saw from Kyle is his easy emotion without talking to him because he felt Kyle is relax and was not trying to impress him at his first bullpen of Spring training.
So, What's my conclusion? Joe Girardi understands players. If we have a injury free season, we are going to have a great season ahead without questions.

This is a great interview by a great Taiwanese Yankees beat reporter with Wang today. Want to share with you guys. She uses Q&A form for that because we all know Wang is so quiet no matter which language he speaks.
Wang: mm, I was very angry at myself. Very angry.

Santana is great, but....
Do I the only one feel this way? I know I shouldn't read into too much, but there are four quotes from four different players. You can decide what you feel by yourself after reading them.
Mets' second baseman Castillo said that when he was traded to the Mets on July 30, Santana told him he wanted to come there as well, and Castillo relayed that to Mets general manager Omar Minaya(From Journal News)

One thing from tennis I don’t understand
In Baseball, Fans always play important role on the outcome of baseball games. That’s why mental toughness is essential when we come to justice a baseball player. They have to be able to deal with pressure and hostile environment. The better one player deal with this, the better player he will become.
But, In tennis, they require fans not to stay in one player's side in order to not to effect their performance on the court. Throughout the whole Australian open, tons of players get upset and angry at fans' support for their opponents. I am watching Australian Open Men Final now, Novak Djokovic's father even complained about fans' reactions with official staff and then Jo-Wilfried Tsonga complained about Novak Djokovic how much time he took for his serves.
No excuse, guys. Where are these tons of complains coming from? Just play game and deal with that.
Updated 11pm:Novak Djokovic overcome nerve, pressure, less support from crowd and a hamstring strain injury happened during game to beat Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 4-6 6-4 6-3 7-6 (7-2).
I just hope Yankees has injury-free 2008 season when I saw Novak Djokovic injuring his hamstring.

Roger Federer may lose this time…
Roger Federer has 10 consecutive gram slam final appearance record....Now... That record may be in jeopardy....Federer is down 2 sets now…
I am just wondering it may help Yankees out for winning a champion if Yankees becomes underdog this season. Sometimes it gets boring for people watching sport if someone or some teams just keep winning.
Updated 10:20pm in Sydney:Novak Djokovic(Serbia) just beat Roger Federer in a 7-5 6-3 7-6 semi-final. The last time Roger Federer lost three straight sets to opponents is 5 years ago. The last time two players are going to play in gram slam final for their first time is ten years ago. WoW!
You know what...Novak Djokovic is just 20 year old. When I saw Novak Djokovic beat Roger Federer, One picture emerged from my mind. Phil Hughes outpitch Josh Beckett in the American League Champion Series and "Young" Yankees Rotation bring us 27th World Series Title.
Mo~a legendary closer and human being.....
That’s why We all love Mo, right? Mo said He might retire if Yankees win the World Series. Don’t do that, Mo. How about getting another one? I still couldn’t image we may not see Mo pitching one day.

Something still is not quite right....
Recently, I have been watched Australian Open. Australians root for their Australian players crazily no matter who their opponents are. The perfect example is the match between Lleyton Hewitt and Marcos Baghdatis. The Australian crowd did everything to support Lleyton Hewitt and can't appreciate any good performance from Marcos Baghdatis. This even infuriated and distracted Marcos Baghdatis from game. In my opinion, that's why Marcos lost that game.(When I posted this, Marcos was losing.)
I guess this is homefield advantage, but I don't think this is right. As a sport fan, you should support all players with good performance no matter where they came from, shouldn't you? The same thing goes to some Taiwanese fans toward to Wang. I think I am one of them, hopefully not as crazy as them. Nothing is wrong about that, but I just think that We should try to destroy national borders physically and mentally. If we are able to accomplish this, I believe we will have a peaceful world eventually.

My Favorite Taiwanese Pro Basseball Team May come Back....
I told some Taiwanese baseball history before. Go to check it out if you miss out and have some interest to know a little bit. In Taiwan, People love baseball which is the most popular sport not just because of Wang. Japan, Korea, and Taiwan remain the most powerful baseball countries in the Asian. However, gamble scandal keep damaging the foundation of Taiwanese baseball and fan base. My favorite pro baseball team called China Times Eagles Baseball Team dismissed because of that.
Since 1997, Star players who are from my favorite team have been came out to address their mistakes to young players after time or probation. During this ten years, they went back to one high school to teach young players how to play baseball. That high school team is not strong baseball team. Surprisingly, they help them win the second place in a high school tournament recently. Those high school players use their the passion to overcome lack of strong skill ability to beat tons of strong high school teams for that honor.
The photo is their celebration with supporters and their coach staff who are those star players from my favorite team (picture is from Taiwan UDN news). During the celebration, reporters speculate China Times Eagles Baseball Team may come back which will be a good news to me. Even though they all say it's premature for that but they will keep supporting and helping young players and enjoy playing baseball with right mind-set. Great News!!
Playing hard with passion is the most important thing for me when I watch baseball games. Yankees certainly can use that for 27th championship.

I wish I have a father like Andy Pettitte
It's shame for someone even doubt why Andy want to consider retirement.Drugs for better performance??I don't care.For me,It touches my heart how much Andy devote to his family.I am sort of growing up in a single family.My father couldn't remember which grade I study all the time.Don't even talk about attending any event.It's so nice to hear someone care about his family so much.
Somebody maybe say "Come on,Andy.You are still young.You have tons of time left for your family in the future."I couldn't disagree with that more.In my opinion,As parents,you have to enjoy every moment with your children.When time pasts,something or some events never come back and you never get another chance to make up.When I was hoping my father to attend some events which were hold by school,he never came and I never have good relationship with my father.As much as I want Andy back for 2008 season,I won't disappoint he chooses retirement,especially for someone already made a lot of money. Baseball is not the most important thing in the life.Love is.Of course,Love from Yankees fans also will be driving force to let Andy back.Let's hope we have showing enough love to Andy.

Potential...
One of this blog reader(Andrea) asked me did I watch Wang's last game?Yes,I watch almost every yankees games.Some of them I watch live games,others I watch after games finished.I did watched Wang's game.The only feeling I have about Wang's game is his ability of learning.It's pretty amazing for me to see how Wang have been doing so far this season.
As a Taiwanese,you guys pretty quitely understand why I crazily root for Wang no matter how he pitch.Be honest with you guys.I am not as unbiased as most yankees fans about everything of Wang.We all know Wang had amazing season last year.Most experts in many different media outlets keep expressing tons of opinions about Wang.They don't believe he can keep his success.We don't even have to go through about "ACE" topic.I am not going to go through this old debate and cliche again with you guys.

want to take Wang and Cano for Randy Johnson trade in 2004.Remember this,no one expected Wang had immediate success in 2005.Remember this,In 2006,not too many people believe Wang could pitch like he did 2005.Remember this,Before 2007,a lot of people believe 2006 season is a fluke and question his "ACE" status.How good he can be?I don't know.We will see.I just hope Wang stays healthy.This is the only concern I have about Wang.
One thing I know for sure.Wang doesn't think he is an ACE.He just tries to get the job done everytime.He want to be great and love playing baseball.

Man,you guys are amazing
Dear Andrea,ben,z,Todd,Carey,and some other readers
You guys are amazing.I haven't been my blog a few days and then find out you guys' word on the comments section.You guys can say I am crazy but I am crying for your guys' word.It warms my heart.This recall my memory of studying in California few years ago.A lot of Americans have great deal of passion which help me a lot,especially when I just got there and couldn't speak English fluently.
I remember how great the bus driver is when I took the bus first time in the United States.I know where I want to go,but I don't know how to say and where I need to get off.He is so patience and explain to me slowly.He help me to get off the bus in the right place.I never forget how great he is.In fact,there are a lot of bus drivers I met in the United States like him.I went to a shopping mall with my classmates one time and we miss the last bus when we left.One guy lead us to another bus station which is very far away from the bus station We wait.
Classmates I have in my class also help my English presenation a lot.They help me correct my grammar problems.I have more stories like this.My conclusion is americans are amazing.You guys give me courage to blog continuously.

Come on,guys,Watch Game
Wang sit on 1-3 record 5.40ERA
There are reactions from Yankees fans after today games..........
Wang is not ACE;If Wang is our ACE we're really in trouble
See,Wang come down to earth;Last season is fluke for him
Wang is No.5 Pitcher;No.3 at best
He gave up 7ER to the last place team(Texas);Send him back to minor
He almost got his perfect game because his opponent is Mariners
That near perfect game is only good outing so far for him.This is bad sign.We're in trouble
No,Wang will be fine;He just have a bad day

The first game Wang pitched against TB(6.1 Innings)
He did pitch great unlike his line indicate.He left the game 3-2 and Myers gave up grand slam(two runs charged to Wang and he took the lost)
Second Game against Boston(6 Innings)
He did pitch Ok,So So.He gave up 4 ER and Yankees can't do anything with Red Sox No.5 pitcher.Wang didn't pitch great on that day,but it's ok and not terrible
Third Game against Mariners(8 Innings)
He is great.No doubt about that.I won't mention that perfect game and opponent.In my opinion,8 innings 1ER is great outing no matter who is his opponent team.
Today Game against Texas(6.1 Innings)
Clearly,Wang is not as sharp as his last outing,but he manage to keep team in the game until 5 Inning.First of all,Abreu totally miss reading that triple Laird hit.I think Abreu should catch that ball.Even he didn't catch that ball,Abreu should keep it Double at least.But,Abreu didn't do that.
Second,After a ground out,Laird is at third base with one out.Next Batter hit a weak ground ball to A-Rod and they got Laird trapping between third and home plate.The way they trap Laird,he should have no chance to come home for scoring.But,Arod and Posada are terrible at that rundown.And Laird come home to score that second run.This is turning point of game.Instead of having tie game(1-1) with 2 outs and runner is on first,Wang give up second run with 1 outs and runner is on Second.What happened to the rest of that 5 inning,I think I don't have to describe.If they make that rundown,Wang probably leave 5 inning without giving up any run and We probably talk about whole different ball game.
Clearly,We find out Wang is not Robot man.Wang's emotion effected by that rundown clearly.When your pitcher is not on top of his game,the defense behind him have to get every out they should get for him.You can't allow to give opponent extra outs.
In 7 inning,I believe the first two singles are ground balls that find the hole and Wang get frustated at that and then couple of hard hit ball after that.Vizcaino come in and give up another run which charge to Wang.
If you didn't watch the game,the only thing you do is checking the line.Your reactions about this game will be one of those I mention above.That's not truth.In my opinion,this game will not be blow out game,if they don't miss that rundown.In baseball games,they always have one turning point of game which will change the whole game.Since that turning point,Texas become different ball club and get the different feeling.

So far this season,all kind of things all went wrong for our Yankees team.I won't tell you "They will be fine,they will turn this around soon".In my opinion,no team will be hit this hard the whole season and no team will be in lucky situation the whole season.If our Yankees team get hit hard the whole season,the only thing we can do is supporting them and screaming "Let's go Yankees".They are fighting.The last thing we wanna do is blaming someone.That's not gonna help.Our Yankees players will remember what kind of mistakes they made already and won't do this again or try to imrove that because I believe they are good team.Good team will come out of this slump.We don't need hero and ACE on the team.Everyone just need to do their best.

Almost Perfect...Wang didn't notice???
That's the quote from Wang after game
"It was just higher than I wanted," Wang said. "I didn't feel I had no-hit stuff. I didn't even know I was throwing one, although I didn't understand why no one would talk to me [in the dugout]."
That's really funny reaction.Do you believe that Wang didn't know he was throwing a perfect game?I believe.Why?Because he throw changeup in that situation.If you were Wang and you notice you throw a perfect game,will you throw the changeup in that situation?I don't think so.I probably throw sinker or slider in the situation.
Wang is that kind of pitcher only concentrate on one pitch at one time and focus on the next hitter.I believe he even doesn't know who he face.Before 2007 season begin,he was asked one question from Taiwanese reporter in Taiwan about how he feel when he pitch in Yankee stadium becuase Yankees fans are so into the game.He responded"I didn't hear anything.Once I stand on the mound,I didn't hear anything and only thing I can see is catcher mitt"
