I can't believe what I just said...

You know, I was worried about Kyle Farnsworth after getting hit by that ball. It really sounds crazy, but this is exactly how I felt and I am not going to lie about it. I said this before and I will say this again. We will never find out who is the Joba's replacement if Joba is still in the bullpen. Without questions, we all know how important the decision is to move Joba into the starting rotation, especially after Wang's injury.

I start realizing we use Mo's standard to judge Kyle Farnsworth. It's not fair. We need every arm we can get to help out our bullpen, especially when you consider we lose Wang who is inning eater.

By the way, Andy is the man, right? Sometimes you just feel more comfort when you see someone on the mound. Andy is one of them on my list. Of course, Mo sits on top of my list. I just never feel nervous when they are on the mound. How cool it is if Mo wins Cy Young Award and Moose finally has his 20 wins season?

I actually feel fine Yankees finish 4-2 during this homestand. We are not going to win every game as long as we keep winning most of series.

We are in business

We are in business. Cool. We are in great shape if we can take one of 2 games left against Astros which will give us another series win when Red Sox seems to struggle on the road. So much for Joba to add some offense for bombers, right? I was laughing so hard during Joba's at bat. There is big difference between Western culture and Asian culture. When Joba and Wang talk about their hitting, they just show totally different attitude.

My heart almost stops during the whole Kyle's saving 9th inning. Good luck for us because Astros make all kind of stupid mistakes. They try their best to help Kyle out for save 1th since 2006. Good sign, right? When you consider Kyle got that save against Red Sox at Fenway Park in 2006, Yankees may have a great 2008 season. Once again, I just can't image to watch Yankees game without Mo.

I am listening to the game, so I can't tell this is truth or not. Maybe you guys can tell me. I have two concerns regard of Yankees. First of all, where is our offense? We score 3, 4, 4, 2 in our last 4 games. It's good to win 3 out of 4 and our pitchers pitch well, but where is our offense? Is it just the case that opposite pitchers pitch well? Does Chacon pitch well? Secondly, Do we need to concern about Posada's shoulder? Is he ok? Astros stole bases on Joba or on Posada?

I am all for putting Joba in the starting rotation. It's much easier to find a pitcher pitching well in one inning than a pitcher pitching well in 6 to 7 innings. If it doesn't work out, we always can put Joba back to the bullpen and prepare him as Mo's successor.

I am kind of person always like to face new challenge. I believe Joba(most athletes) is the same kind of person. If we never try, we will never know what will happen. I also believe we can find another Joba-like set-up man down the farm. On top of that, I don't think we need to worry about closer's situation when you consider how good Mo has been.

I believe a lot of people will point their fingers to how bad Kyle Farnsworth pitch today or that Met game which he gave up two home runs to prove their point why shouldn't turn Joba into a starter . In my opinion, relievers except inhuman Mo will have one of those days. As long as he pitch well at the majority of appearances, I am fine with that. I actually think Farnsworth doesn't pitch too bad today. He gave up that single after 13 pitches at bat and let Sexson run into a homer when he try to run a fastball inside that most Yankees pitchers got him tonight. Unfortunately, Kyle put the ball a little bit middle of the plate. Don't get me wrong, I don't trust Kyle, but I believe we have good bullpen, such as Veras, Edwar,....etc.

Close your eyes and dream about this. In 2009, we have a rotation including Wang, Joba, Hughes, Kennedy, Pettitte(I hope Andy come back for one more season). WoW!

2008 Subway Series Round 1 Pettitte vs Santana

First of all, This game was started at 3am and ended in 7am in Sydney. When you consider the time of the game, this is good game to watch and keep me away from falling sleep.

I guess a lot of people killing Yankees now. Are you one of them? When they lose games, tons of people jump on them and can't wait to kill them, especially those so called shortsighted "experts". If you come here to read negative things about Yankees, you come to the wrong place.

Do I worry about Andy? No. Based on what I saw today's game, Andy will be fine as long as he is healthy. He just doesn't have luck at all recently. I actually feel Andy pitch better than Santana who is not impressive at all, especially when you consider we don't have Posada and A-Rod in the lineup and tons of our hitters are struggling.

Don't get me wrong. I am not saying Santana pitched badly. I have been watched few Santana's games this few years. I just don't think he is the same dominant pitcher and I am glad Yankees don't trade young kids for him. Down the road, maybe 2 years later, this non-trade move by Cashman may make him look like a genius. We will see.

I am glad to see Pettitte going out for 6th inning and finish that inning because it allows Girardi not to pitch Ohlendorf. This is good move when you consider Ohlendorf is the same style of pitcher as Wang(sinker/slider). If Ohlendorf pitch today, this may give Mets' hitters better preparation for tomorrow Wang's game.

I see a lot of good signs from our hitters, such as Jeter, Giambi, Abreu. But, the bottom of lineup is killing Yankees now. Duncan is dead fastball hitter. I think it's time to consider another option down the minors, such as speedy Brett Gardner. If Duncan can't improve and prove he can adjust to breaking pitches, he won't be successful in the major. I also think it's about time to cut Ensberg once A-Rod is back and healthy. Ensberg is not the same player as he was few years ago. As long as we have Alberto Gonzalz for infielders' replacement and Betemit will come back eventually, we should be fine.

I know our bullpen blow the game today, but they can't be good every time out when you consider they have been pitched great recently. That's why I give them a pass today. If Kyle and Joba come out and pitch great next time out, we will be fine.

Good news is A-Rod had his first reb game. If everything goes well, we will see him soon. Can't wait to have him back.

Tomorrow is another big game for Wang. We need to stay close to .500. It seems we say this every time when Wang take the mound. Hopefully, Wang will be able to give us a great game. Talk about pressure.

That's all for now. I need to go back to catch few hours sleep and then finish some works before Monday. I won't be able to watch Game 2 of subway series tomorrow because game will be started at 10am on Monday in Sydney. Hopefully, Without me watching, it may bring Yankees more luck. I always feel it's my fault to bring bad luck to Yankees when I watch Yankees losing games because I am the one doesn't have any luck at all in my life.

Different Kyle Farnsworth??

I am not going to talk about nasty Joba when he faces three Blue Jays' minor leaguers and blew them away. Am I the only crazy person thinking about the possibility of seeing different Kyle Farnsworth this season? I actually think Farnsworth did pitch pretty well. He threw a lot of pitches very close to plate and limit the damage to just one run. Unlike the couple of seasons I saw from Kyle when he couldn't stop bleeding and throw a lot of bad pitches not even close to plate.I like what I see. Hopefully, He can keep doing that once season starts.

By the way, Dan Giese, Jonathan Albaladejo, and Chris Britton are all pretty good as well. Why? They throw strikes which is very important for me. I can't stand pitchers give up free passes. Dan Giese is the most impressive one among those three because he faces Blue Jays starting lineup even though he did get in trouble, but manage to get out of jams.

As for Kennedy, If my memory serves me right, this is second time he faces Blue Jay and pitch well on both times. Impressive outing from Kennedy for me. Wang and Kennedy all pitch well against Blue Jays this spring when they change speed and move around location on their pitches. Is this blueprint for success against Blue Jays? I know it sounds a successful blueprint to every team, but I guess what I try to say is not throwing too many fastball.

I almost forget one thing. What a beautiful slide into home plate by Shelley Duncan! What a way to tell everyone you don't have to have such a violent collision in order to show how hard you play baseball. Not to mention another strong offense display from Shelley as well.

Man, I think I agree with Todd. We got a great team and I can't wait the season starting. Let's Go Yankees.

Does Joe Girardi try to send soft messages out?

I don't think too many people can move their eyes away from our new manager Joe Girardi. A lot of news, reports and columns already flood in. The most analysis is all about how the tough, hardworking, organized guy Joe Girardi is. As far as I am concerned, I like what I saw so far from Girardi. Posada even said to reporters he expect Girardi will be tougher and more critical of them than Joe Torre.

Front get-go, first sentence for his first interview on the first workout of Spring training. Joe Girardi said:"This things I prepared for months and bomb here it's...". You can tell from his answers to every reporters' questions. He was well prepared for every words came out his mouth. Every questions is regarding for Joba's position as a setup man or a starting pitcher. He never change his answer. One time he even correct himself and rearrange few words he says about Joba.

In addition, Girardi not only mentions couple of reporters' names during the whole interview but also cracks up few jobs along the way.

Couple of things I saw so far from Girardi are great. I don't know he does them by nature or by design, but I like them. He makes sure to answer questions as short as he can. I believe the less he says, the less mistakes he makes and the less stories reporters or talk show hosts can write or talk about. He also said his message to players is simple: "healthy and care about him"

The most impressive thing he has done is sending some soft messages out to players.

First of all, He brings all three kids to camp with him. He and his wife are playing with them on the field after workout every day. His kids wrote some words down and drew some pictures on the board. They said:"We love you, dad. You are the best".

Secondly, The first thing he told to all pitchers was not trying too hard now. Take it easy and tell them you can't make the team in two days. He understand players are eager to impress people, but it's easy for them to get hurt when their arm strength is not there yet.

Thirdly, He not only spent 30 minutes with Kei Igawa in order to understand him more but also said the most impressive thing he saw from Kyle is his easy emotion without talking to him because he felt Kyle is relax and was not trying to impress him at his first bullpen of Spring training.

So, What's my conclusion? Joe Girardi understands players. If we have a injury free season, we are going to have a great season ahead without questions.
