AJ vs Rays
7:40pm Great first inning from A.J. Let see what Pena can do. I believe he at least can play great defense which Ransom can't do.
7:55pm This acting Ray. That ball doesn't hit your foot. David Cone makes a great point. If ball hit your foot, the ball will change direction. By the way, another nice inning from A.J. At this rate, this certainly is good news for Yankees bullpen.
8:10pm Burnett is dealing which is a good news. The bad news is Yankees only has one run. By the way, we all know what happen now in this game.
8:15pm Swisher can't be hotter which is great news for Yankees, especially when you consider A-Rod is out for injury.
8:24pm I am glad A.J is back up to his teammate. However, the last thing we need is he get threw out of game because we really need to win this game.
8:33pm If Yankees win this game and even their record to 4-4, it is pretty amazing. First of all, CC is terrible for one game while Wang is horrible for two games. Secondly, A-Rod is not in the lineup while Teixeira is out of lineup for few games. Thirdly, the bottom of lineup haven't done much. Fourthly, Jeter, Damon and Matsui also are in the slump. Fifthly, Yankees bullpen is not so great as well. Sixthly, Yankees play all these games on the road.
8:52pm 2 runs is not a big lead. Yankees has to worry about game first. Yankees really need A.J. to step up in order to give bullpen a rest.
9:09pm I hope I am able to watch something I haven't seen before.
9:14pm The real test is coming for A.J in this coming inning. Hopefully, A.J is able to hold down Rays.
9:30pm Ok, I guess every Yankees fan like me who feel disappointed at how 7th inning turns out. Fortunately, we still get a chance to win this game. It is Yankees hitters' turn to pick up A.J.
9:45pm Huge hit by Gardner and Jeter. I feel so nervous about Teixeira's hand. Great, great, great job by Teixeira to hit that sacrifice fly. Yes, here comes Mo.
9:59pm This 4th run will be a huge insurance run for Yankees to pick up. Another huge hit by Gardner. See, you don't have to have all-star at every position as long as you have great starting pitching. Of course, it won't hurt to get A-Rod back to lineup. The more days we can get by with this lineup, the more days we can get for A-Rod to rehab his hip.
10:09pm Another huge hit for Captain.
10:19pm Great 9th inning from Bruney with 3 strikeouts. This is great game to watch.

Pettitte vs KC
5:41pm I really need to complain about new MLB media player. First of all, it breaks and stop playing so many time. Secondly, you can't fast forward or rewind when you listen to audio after the game finishes. Thirdly, why we can't choose to listen to WCBS when we watch YES.
5:48pm Cano and Swisher have been extremely hot. I can't image Swisher doesn't play again tomorrow and may move Cano the batting order.
5:50pm Ransom has played very horrible defensively and offensively. He even makes a base running mistake.
6:00pm If Posada can get on somehow, I believe Cano can drive them in.
6:05pm Well, Ponson doesn't want to pitch to Cano at all. Hopefully, Swisher can come through again.
6:14pm Pettitte is one of those pitchers you believe he can work out of jam. Is it just me to feel a little bit nervous when balls go to Jeter or Ransom's territory.
6:20pm I am just kind of nervous when Yankees don't put on more runs against Ponson.
6:32pm Pettitte has pitched strong 6 innings. Based on his pitch count which is 84 pitches, he should be able to pitch one more inning.
6:44pm That's Farnsworth we know. When the game is not on the line with less pressure, he is going to pitch a great game.
6:51pm Pettitte is at 99 pitches. Butler is first batter up next inning for KC. I think that's it for Pettitte. Girardi will go to Bruney at 8th inning.
6:55pm Cano has been looked unbelievable so far this season, especially the way he takes pitches.
6:59pm Here come 8th inning. 6th,7th and 8th batter of order for KC. Bruney looks good with two strikeouts so far. I am surprised at how many "experts" claim bullpen will be the weakness for Yankees. Mo is going to pick up his first save of the season.
7:19pm New MLB player stops and freezes again. When I finally get the feed back, unbelievable Mo already got 2 outs.

Yankees vs Red Sox
7:57pm Burnett has been very impressive so far for 4 innings. If Burnett can stay healthy, he can help us a lot.
8:17pm I don't think they know internet in Australia is so expensive especially after mid day before midnight, but this game is gone through so quickly.
8:41pm It will be criminal at this point for Gardner not to be our center fielder once season starts. The first run of the game for Yankees is basically Gardner's run. It's very exciting to have this kind of speedy and exciting player on our team. By the way, Good job for Damon as well. Damon is behind the count and hit the ground ball to get the run in.
8:55pm Mo is Mo. However, I think Mo's velocity and location hasn't all the way back yet.
9:17pm Am I watching the same game Michael Kay watches? Kay says Marte doesn't look shape at all. I actually think Marte looks much better than his first spring outing. Even though there is a wild pitch and many full count, I think Marte throws a lot of good pitches.

Wang with Posada at Phillies
2:03pm Wang has very economical pitching counts in first inning. 1 ground ball 2 flyouts
2:08pm Yankees and coach staff probably are scared to death when Phillies pitcher almost walks Wang to first base.
2:11pm Wang is in trouble to begin second inning. Trouble always begins at walk. Guess what? Wang is always one pitch away from double play.
2:20pm Posada is tested for first time of this game. Runner steals second successfully. Since I can't see it, I don't know how Posada looks. But, Wang strikes out the batter to end the inning. Wang throws a lot of balls in second inning.
2:25pm Back to back walk to Posada and Damon. If Posada can catch 110 games, that will be a huge upgrade for 2009 season.
2:30pm Yankees tie the game for Nady's infield single. See. Trouble always begins at walk.
2:37pm Wang's command and control is not so good today, but he comes up with another double play. I think Wang tries to practice his secondary pitches, such as slider, changeup and splitter. When he is in trouble, he always has sinker to go to.
2:45pm Wang is very underrated in terms of his defense. He just makes a great play to end the inning. There are two hits Wang gives up today are basically ground ball. But, his command and control is not too good.
3:16pm It seems to me Wang get tired once he reaches his pitch counts. I am listening to Phillies announcers for this game. Why they talk like Damon hits .200 last season? Come on, I know Damon doesn't have a great arm which everyone knows it, but the guy hits over .300 at leadoff spot.
3:25pm Wang's day is done. Bruney is up and strike out first two batters he face. However, Bruney gives up another run for Wang and 2 runs for himself. I believe Joba should be in the bullpen crowd will be out pretty soon.
4:05pm When Giese follows Bruney's step to get killed, I believe Joba should be in the bullpen and our bullpen are terrible crowd will be all out by now. Come down, guys. This is a spring training game. Sometimes all relief pitchers have the bad days together. It seems to me Tomko will be long man job.
4:09pm The most important thing of this game is Wang pitching solid and hopefully Posada comes out healthy and feel good after throwing to second once.

Burnett's 3rd Spring Training Outing
8:17pm The way Blue Jay pitching staff constructs and forms, they and Orioles are going to lose many games this season.
8:20pm I am impressed the at bat by Swisher. Actually, he has been done this quite a while. He always can work the count well by making contact with good pitches and not swinging at bad pitches. On the other hand, it seems Nady is not as selective as Swisher. I believe Swisher is going to help us a lot if Girardi can give him enough playing time. I believe Giardi will like Swisher this kind of player. When all said and done, he will beat out Nady for right field job.
8:43pm I think Burnett is fine when you consider he not only can't command his breaking pitches but also can't locate his fastball. However, I am not sure how he will fare if he most major league hitters.
8:46pm Bruney has a fine first inning of work when he takes over Burnett because he can make adjustment on the mound when he can't throw his fastball for strike. However, don't forget to give Posada credit for that.
9:28pm Ok. My computer gives up on me. When I come back, I find out Bruney give up two runs and gets taken out of game. I not only miss this but also miss Mo's quick inning work.
10:04pm We certainly get more chances to look at kids because of the absence of A-Rod, Jeter and Cano, such as Pena and Nunez, etc.
As long as everyone is healthy and they know what they can improve on their game, I am not worrying about spring training number.

CC's 3rd Spring Training Outing(All eyes on Posada/Mo)
7:25pm Any thought to put Posada on leadoff spot? Ha! Well, if he can run faster, it will be a vital option. Just kidding.
7:28pm Teixeira just strike out when runners on first and second. If this happen in regular season, he is in trouble.
7:31pm I am one of supports for Matsui. I believe he will contribute a lot and will be extremely important for us, especially after A-Rod's injury.
7:37pm The way Yankees pitching staff builds up, there must be a nice friendly competition within pitching staff.
7:39pm Melky also was out for one pitch in the first inning. Melky really needs to show more patience.
7:41pm Because of the balk, we lose a chance for Posada to throw out runner. By the way, USA is behind. Jeter is on his way to be back with us.
7:43pm Posada makes the first throw to third base. Even though the throw is not good, hopefully he comes out healthy.
7:54pm Are you watching WBC and come back to watch Yankees game during break? or another way around?
7:56pm USA leads 2-1 while Yankees also leads 2-1.
7:59pm Two more strikeouts for CC. If our pitching staff stay healthy, we will have a unbelievable season. I can't wait the season to start.
8:06pm It looks like we get a good no.3 and no.4 hitters in our lineup, right? Teixeira hits a double down the line and then Matsui hits one out. Well, Nady hits another double. Yankees experienced hitters are very tough on young pitchers because they can not do the same thing for second time around and they will hammer any mistake.
8:13pm Even though Melky hits a double, but I don't like he basically hits every pitch is thrown to him.
8:18pm I actually like we are able to watch more prospects and bench guys playing because of the absence of Jeter, Cano and A-Rod.
8:23pm Even though the score of spring training doesn't count, hopefully Yankees can good at bat on situational hitting. Yankees have done that well so far. Well, great to see. Posada drives in two more runs.
8:27pm You know why Yankees have hit well so far this spring? Because we don't have a all star in every position, a lot of players just want to get on base for big hitters hitting behind them.
8:30pm I agree with what Peter said on his blog. I don't think Yankees will bring back CC after long half inning.
8:33pm Teixeira has another good at bat. I need to ask this again. Do we have mercy rule in spring training? Bases loaded again in the same inning.
8:40pm I am surprised at seeing CC back to 4th inning. CC goes through 4th inning with some command issue that is expected after long half inning.
8:50pm As you guys know, Internet is not cheap in Australia, especially after 12pm before 12am. Hopefully, I am able to watch Mo pitching.
8:54pm Even though I can't wait to watch Mo pitching, I don't need Melky to hit first pitch he sees to help me out for that. By the way, the pitch Melky hits is a ball. Melky really needs to be selective on the plate.
8:56pm Mo is coming. Yes.
8:59pm Wow! Three pitches for first strike out. Unbelievable! Will it be nicer to let Mo throw more pitches? Well, that's impossible when you consider the control and command Mo has. Mo retires the side with two strikeouts for 11 pitches(8 strikes). How can we live without Mo.
9:18pm A nice second inning work of spring training for Edwar.
9:30pm USA is behind 3-4 in the 6th inning. Jeter is on his way to be with us soon.
9:46pm Even though I want Jeter to be back with us, I am happy to see Jeter having a good at bat when runner on scoring position. Jeter gets on base.
9:58pm If USA would lose this game, it's certainly nicer for Yankees fans to see Youkilis can't come up with big hit and Jeter works out a walk.

Posada first action of spring behind the plate
1:23pm Good first inning for Pettitte. I am still nervous to see Posada if he needs to throw to second base. I think Girardi should make Posada work with lefty(CC& Pettitte) more or power pitchers (Burnett& Joba) if he need to split time for Posada and Molina. In my opinion, Molina should work with Joba and Wang more because Wang is a ground ball pitcher and both of them don't hold runners well.
1:29pm I guess we have another candidate for leadoff spot. Good to see Matsui and Posada running well.
1:36pm I guess it's hard to test Posada's arm if Pettitte pitch well. Not to mention, Pettitte is a lefty who holds runners well.
1:48pm Berroa has a good sacrifice bunt while Pena has a good at bat to drive the runner in who is on third with less than two outs. When Jeter, Cano and A-Rod is away from team, Giardi certainly can have a good look at utility infielder.
1:52pm I guess the crisis of Yankees starting pitching is over. Pettitte looks good today.
1:57pm It will be very good for us if Posada can be healthy enough to be a starting catcher for around 110 game. Another chance for Yankees to play fundamental baseball. SEE, Teixeira drives that runner in with a sacrifice fly when runner on third with less than 2 outs. Yankees play fundamental baseball to drive two runs in with less than two outs. I like this kind of game.
2:04pm Matsui hurt opponent pitchers two days in a row. Sound kind of luck for Matsui?
2:06pm Good to hear Coke try to learn hard slider from Gator. I can't image Coke doesn't make the team as long as he is healthy.
2:09pm I don't understand those so called experts claim Yankees have to upgrade their bullpen or put Joba in the bullpen if they really watch Yankees playing.
2:12pm It's too bad Posada doesn't get a chance to throw to second base today. However, it's good to take it slowly. Spring training is still long way to go.
2:29pm If Yankees and Girardi consider Coke as long man, does that open another spot in the bullpen to other pitchers? If you ask me, I won't mess around with Coke. You put him in either as second lefty for one inning or long man. I will play Coke for one or two innings at maxium and put a real long man in the pen.
2:52pm It looks like Berroa may make the team as utility infielder because of the ability of hitting.
Sunday, March 1, 2009
Joba first spring training game
1:35pm It seems both starters have rocky start. I don't think Joba has his velocity back yet.
1:45pm Giese is up. I believe Girardi will have a long man in the bullpen. Giese should be a leading candidate for that role. Is wind blowing out today?
1:55pm Is this the Yankees team I know? Two sacrifice flies in a row? Play small ball well?
2pm Why every ball is flying out(or almost) the ballpark? It seems to me Giese doesn't have command yet.
2:20pm Even though Cano has a down year last season, he is still better than many second baseman in the league. We really need him offensively and defensively. He certainly can help out Jeter defensively and lengthen lineup offensively.
2:25pm Veras is up now. When I look at Veras's velocity, it seems not so many players have their velocity back to normal at this stage of spring training.
2:35pm I switch audio between Kay and Sterling. I must say this. If I have to choose one among them, I definitely go with Sterling. Kay is really boring.
2:45pm Teixeira just makes a terrific play at 1B. His defense will help us a lot. By the way, did I mention Molina throw out another base runner? Yankees should send a note to every other teams in the league,"Don't even try to steal off Molina"
3:20pm Because internet is so expensive in Australia, I switch to WCBS once Yankees put Igawa on.

It's over, but don't play blame game.
I know there are tons of news about how poor Yankees have been played, how much Yankees should miss Joe Torre, how well Red Sox has played, how many players Red Sox raised from their farm system, how badly Yankees spend their money, how terrible job Brian Cashman does, how dreadful Yankees young players have been played and why Yankees should trade for Santana. Anything else?
But, I am not going to talk about this. As you guys know, this is a blog to talk about positive things. These are all second-guess. No one knows what would happen during any game. No one knows what would happen if Joe Torre was here. No one knows what would happen when you sign any free agent and draft any prospect. No one knows how young players would peform every year. No one knows what Hughes and Kennedy would do the rest of his career. No one knows what would happen if Santana was here. No one knows how Santana would perform the rest of his contract for Mets. No one knows if we really go after Santana, how many potential major league players or superstars we would give up. No one knows if we really go after Santana, he may end up in Boston.
The things I know for sure. We will have a great bullpen next season. Wang, Matsui, Posada, Hughes, Joba and Jeter will be back and healthy for us next season. A-Rod and the rest of position players will not hit worse when runners on base than this season. Joe Giradi will do his job better when he gets his feet wet this year, especially when you consider he well he manages the bullpen. All young players get one more year experience. We will have money to address our problems this off-season. What else?
Let's Go Yankees!

Some random thought after game...
*OK! If unthinkable thing happen this season which Yankees don’t make the postseason, what does this mean? When you think about how inconsistent our offense and pitching have been the whole season, Does this mean this team can’t survive without Joba, Wang, Matsui and Posada? Are they two most important players of our rotation and lineup?
*I know one thing for sure. We really need to upgrade our pitching staff this off-season, especially rotation because I think we can get bullpen help from farm system. When your starters keep leaving earlier, it will kill your bullpen eventually no matter how well manager manage his bullpen. Since all star break except first 8 game winning streak certainly prove this point. This may be the most underrating thing of Wang's absence to our Yankees team because Wang eat up a lot of innings.

Mo and Posada are so funny
We are in business
My heart almost stops during the whole Kyle's saving 9th inning. Good luck for us because Astros make all kind of stupid mistakes. They try their best to help Kyle out for save 1th since 2006. Good sign, right? When you consider Kyle got that save against Red Sox at Fenway Park in 2006, Yankees may have a great 2008 season. Once again, I just can't image to watch Yankees game without Mo.
I am listening to the game, so I can't tell this is truth or not. Maybe you guys can tell me. I have two concerns regard of Yankees. First of all, where is our offense? We score 3, 4, 4, 2 in our last 4 games. It's good to win 3 out of 4 and our pitchers pitch well, but where is our offense? Is it just the case that opposite pitchers pitch well? Does Chacon pitch well? Secondly, Do we need to concern about Posada's shoulder? Is he ok? Astros stole bases on Joba or on Posada?

What a tough loss for Yankees
If we are able to split this series against CLE on their ball park and finish our record one game above .500, we will be in good shape. Even though we lost today game, we still will be fine, especially when you consider what a tough schedule we have in April and how inconsistent our offense, pitching, defense are. Of course, we also have a lot of injuries as well.
What a tough blow for Yankees when we probably lose Posada for a long time. I hope we see Posada very soon. Before that, I am sure our bombers will be able to weather this storm and come through on top again.

A team without SS and Catcher?
It seems it's impossible to have injury-free season. After having so many injuries from pitchers last season, the injury bugs bite position players this season. When your team struggle to score runs and more and more position players go down for injuries, you know your team is in trouble.
Man! The list is getting long. Giambi, not 100% recovery Matsui, Jeter, Posada, Damon(possible? base on my observation from today game)....
I only hope they go to DL if they can't play for a while and we actually can call up someone to help us out. Ego or pride sometimes play a role on this DL stuff. For example, Johnny Damon play through pain earlier last season.
I am done with writing negative stuffs about my team. I am not used to do this. It's still early and won't make me panic this early. We have tough schedule ahead this month. If we can just keep our heads above water long enough behind healthy pitching staff and Jose Molina behind the plate, we will be fine.

Welcome back,Andy

Thank God!Mo is back!!!
I always look forward to hearing "enter sandman" when I watch Yankees games every time out.I always laugh at how humor Mo is during interview.I always remember the interview on Michael Kay show.Michael Kay asked Mo:Have you ever passed mirror and then said to yourself "OH!YA!I am the greatest closer in the MLB".Mo said:"No,I never think I am the best closer in the MLB,but you may pass mirror and said I am the best broadcaster" HA!How humor and classic guy Mo is.Mo treats himself as a leader of bullpen and always put team in front of individual.Welcome come back,Mo.

Posada is back,What a great news,But???
Is it something wrong on Mo's deal?Mo even said:"Yanks are my first choice, but there is always Joe and Dodgers."Mo is free agent now,so anything is possible.Mo and his agent even choose to stay out of US at this period of time which Mo is going to be free agent. The good news is Mo and his agent on their way back and Yanks already made an improved offer.Hopefully,I think too much.We can hear Mo's good news soon.

Andy,Mo and Posada..would you guys please make up your mind ASAP???
Thursday, November 8, 2007
Ok!!Unbelievable bad things keep happening to Yankees?????
Are you in this mood,Yankees fans???If you were, you would listen to me because I am not.First of all,I love Joe Torre as a great human being and as a manager as well, but It's time for change.I like Joe Girardi replace Joe Torre. He will be great in 2008 season.
Second,I am glad to hear A-Rod optioning out his contract and Yankees seems to keep his word for letting him go.We don't need a lineup full with all stars who care about their stats more than winning ball games. We need solid,gritty,team-first ball players to move runners up.That's yankees' problem since 2004.We either score tons of runs or very few runs.We keep waiting for that big innings all the time. That's why most of our pitchers seems to get tons of run supporters, but we have problems about winning games. We lose a lot of close games and playoff games because of that.
As far as I think Mo,Posada and Pettitte. This is my opinion. We can find out it turns out to be true or not.Mo,Posada and Pettitte are not A-Rod.They love Yankees and want to be yankees. you can't say that to every players. It just takes some time and efforts to get them back.Mo will be first one to sign a deal I think and Pettitte will be last one.The only reason for Posada tests free agent because he wants to get one more year from yankees. That's all.Pettitte is exhausted at this moment.Once yankees agree to give him one more player option for 2009 and spring traning comes to the corner,he will be back.Mo will take the best deal he can get from yankees before even talking to other teams.
Our Yankee team has been in transition from 2005.I believe 2008 will be the last year of transition. When the new stadium open in 2009,we will have a new dynasty of New York Yankees if we hold on most talented prospects without trading them. There is old saying going,"A crisis is a chance"
