Yes, Every Yankee fan, Here is 27th Title

Let me describe the scene I saw yesterday at my office. As I told you on previous post, I can't take a day off because I just report to the new job.

Once the o'clock turned to lunch time yesterday, a lot of my colleagues ran toward to cafeteria for television. At that time, the game was on top of 8th inning. Marte just got the lefty out he need to . Here we go. Girardi called on Mo to close the game.

Since that moment, everyone in the cafeteria wants to have a strike call for every pitch. With every minute and every pitch passing by, our lunch break closes to the end. Everyone in the cafeteria start screaming on "come on".

When Mo gets the ground ball to Cano, everyone stands up and ready go back to work with a smile on the face.

Game 1 of ALDS_Twins at Yankees

8pm It's 8am in the morning in Taiwan. I wake up on time to see A-Rod come through with a big RBI single. And then Matsui hit another home run against lefty. Of course, I miss the big two-run home run by Captain.

8:20pm At the same time, a well rest CC with run support keep putting on zero on the scoreboard.

8:35pm Well, It starts making everyone nervous, doesn't it? Come on, CC.

8:40pm A job well done by CC. Let's go Hughes. We need this big out.

8:48pm Guess what? Hughes get that big out by throwing fastball right by Cabrera

9:03pm A-Rod likes to face Twins in the post season, right?

9:21pm It's good to get everyone in the game to feel the pressure of playoff.

9:47pm It's hard for me to get nervous when Mo is on the mound. Congrats to Yanks for game 1 win(7-2).

Joba vs A's

9:12pm I wake up at the top of 7th inning when Matsui hit that ground ball to drive in A-Rod. Good ABC baseball

It seems Joba has another good outing.

9:44pm Great job from Coke to save two base runners Joba left on base.

9:45pm It's funny to see Mo's face after Posada hit that home run.

9:52pm It is hard to tell Swisher is safe or out. It looks like A's doesn't tag Swisher. But, I can see why A's manager is angry because throw beats Swisher so much.

9:55pm It looks like a right decision to sit down Mo immediately.

10:12pm Another win in the book for Yankees.

A.J. vs Tiger

8:54pm I just wake up and need to leave home soon for my sister's work pretty soon. I will try to watch this game as much as I can. When I turn on my television, I just saw A.J. struggling with his command at the top of 5th and 6th inning. However, the good thing is A.J. still somehow to keep Yankees in this game.

9:03pm Melky makes another great play in the center field second inning in a row. In the 5th inning, he gunned down Tiger Cabrera at the 2nd inning. In the 6th inning, he makes a great catch to complete double play.

9:06pm Great to see another Taiwanese player in the major league. I have mixed feeling because I want Yankees to win, but I don't want Yankees to hit Ni well.

9:15pm Man, If Posada is not the base runner at the 2nd base, we score that tie run.

9:43pm What a big hit from Teixeira. One more big hit from Swisher will win this game for Yankees.

9:48pm Now, it's up to Melky to give our bullpen more breathing room to work with.

9:49pm I will let Hughes pitch 8th inning. Let see what Girardi will do.

9:53pm I guess Girardi agree with me.

10:00pm Hughes, one more out, please. We will see Mo.

10:05pm What a performance by Hughes. YAH!

10:09pm Man, I hate this rain delay. Hopefully, Mo haven't warm iup. I probably won't be able to watch the ending.

Joba vs TB(20th come from behind victory of 2009 season)

I can't keep watching this game. I need to go to bed. If Yankees can somehow end up with winning this game, Yankees have to thank two great defense plays. One is by Teixeira. The other is by Melky. Those two great defense plays at least save two runs for Yankees.

Let's Go Yankees!

OK! I am lying. I say I need to go to bed, but I can't. I don't want to turn the game off when Yankees is down. This team is different. You never can count them out. Guess what? I get another Yankees' rally. Mo is one out away from saving the game for Yankees. Guess what? The last batter he faces is Longoria.

Do you concern about Mo after yesterday game? If you do, shame on you. I don't. I guess Mo tells Girardi doesn't tell the greatest closer of the all time to walk anyone intentionally. The more I watch Girardi managing the game, the more I question whether Girardi can be a good manager for Yankees or not. and you?

Pettitte vs KC

5:27pm Ha! guys, I join this game. Yankees lead 2-1 now.

5:41pm I really need to complain about new MLB media player. First of all, it breaks and stop playing so many time. Secondly, you can't fast forward or rewind when you listen to audio after the game finishes. Thirdly, why we can't choose to listen to WCBS when we watch YES.

5:48pm Cano and Swisher have been extremely hot. I can't image Swisher doesn't play again tomorrow and may move Cano the batting order.

5:50pm Ransom has played very horrible defensively and offensively. He even makes a base running mistake.

6:00pm If Posada can get on somehow, I believe Cano can drive them in.

6:05pm Well, Ponson doesn't want to pitch to Cano at all. Hopefully, Swisher can come through again.

6:14pm Pettitte is one of those pitchers you believe he can work out of jam. Is it just me to feel a little bit nervous when balls go to Jeter or Ransom's territory.

6:20pm I am just kind of nervous when Yankees don't put on more runs against Ponson.

6:32pm Pettitte has pitched strong 6 innings. Based on his pitch count which is 84 pitches, he should be able to pitch one more inning.

6:44pm That's Farnsworth we know. When the game is not on the line with less pressure, he is going to pitch a great game.

6:51pm Pettitte is at 99 pitches. Butler is first batter up next inning for KC. I think that's it for Pettitte. Girardi will go to Bruney at 8th inning.

6:55pm Cano has been looked unbelievable so far this season, especially the way he takes pitches.

6:59pm Here come 8th inning. 6th,7th and 8th batter of order for KC. Bruney looks good with two strikeouts so far. I am surprised at how many "experts" claim bullpen will be the weakness for Yankees. Mo is going to pick up his first save of the season.

7:19pm New MLB player stops and freezes again. When I finally get the feed back, unbelievable Mo already got 2 outs.

Yankees vs Red Sox

7:51pm Posada just makes a fair and solid throw to get Ellsbury. Not a very good throw. Again. There are still around 2 weeks to get to regular season.

7:57pm Burnett has been very impressive so far for 4 innings. If Burnett can stay healthy, he can help us a lot.

8:17pm I don't think they know internet in Australia is so expensive especially after mid day before midnight, but this game is gone through so quickly.

8:41pm It will be criminal at this point for Gardner not to be our center fielder once season starts. The first run of the game for Yankees is basically Gardner's run. It's very exciting to have this kind of speedy and exciting player on our team. By the way, Good job for Damon as well. Damon is behind the count and hit the ground ball to get the run in.

8:55pm Mo is Mo. However, I think Mo's velocity and location hasn't all the way back yet.

9:17pm Am I watching the same game Michael Kay watches? Kay says Marte doesn't look shape at all. I actually think Marte looks much better than his first spring outing. Even though there is a wild pitch and many full count, I think Marte throws a lot of good pitches.

CC's 3rd Spring Training Outing(All eyes on Posada/Mo)

7:19pm I am exciting to watch CC pitching for the first time on YES I believe. It looks like CC has a good start. CC strikes out two of three batters he face. Bad news is Posada doesn't have chances to test his arm again.

7:25pm Any thought to put Posada on leadoff spot? Ha! Well, if he can run faster, it will be a vital option. Just kidding.

7:28pm Teixeira just strike out when runners on first and second. If this happen in regular season, he is in trouble.

7:31pm I am one of supports for Matsui. I believe he will contribute a lot and will be extremely important for us, especially after A-Rod's injury.

7:37pm The way Yankees pitching staff builds up, there must be a nice friendly competition within pitching staff.

7:39pm Melky also was out for one pitch in the first inning. Melky really needs to show more patience.

7:41pm Because of the balk, we lose a chance for Posada to throw out runner. By the way, USA is behind. Jeter is on his way to be back with us.

7:43pm Posada makes the first throw to third base. Even though the throw is not good, hopefully he comes out healthy.

7:54pm Are you watching WBC and come back to watch Yankees game during break? or another way around?

7:56pm USA leads 2-1 while Yankees also leads 2-1.

7:59pm Two more strikeouts for CC. If our pitching staff stay healthy, we will have a unbelievable season. I can't wait the season to start.

8:06pm It looks like we get a good no.3 and no.4 hitters in our lineup, right? Teixeira hits a double down the line and then Matsui hits one out. Well, Nady hits another double. Yankees experienced hitters are very tough on young pitchers because they can not do the same thing for second time around and they will hammer any mistake.

8:13pm Even though Melky hits a double, but I don't like he basically hits every pitch is thrown to him.

8:18pm I actually like we are able to watch more prospects and bench guys playing because of the absence of Jeter, Cano and A-Rod.

8:23pm Even though the score of spring training doesn't count, hopefully Yankees can good at bat on situational hitting. Yankees have done that well so far. Well, great to see. Posada drives in two more runs.

8:27pm You know why Yankees have hit well so far this spring? Because we don't have a all star in every position, a lot of players just want to get on base for big hitters hitting behind them.
8:30pm I agree with what Peter said on his blog. I don't think Yankees will bring back CC after long half inning.

8:33pm Teixeira has another good at bat. I need to ask this again. Do we have mercy rule in spring training? Bases loaded again in the same inning.

8:40pm I am surprised at seeing CC back to 4th inning. CC goes through 4th inning with some command issue that is expected after long half inning.

8:50pm As you guys know, Internet is not cheap in Australia, especially after 12pm before 12am. Hopefully, I am able to watch Mo pitching.

8:54pm Even though I can't wait to watch Mo pitching, I don't need Melky to hit first pitch he sees to help me out for that. By the way, the pitch Melky hits is a ball. Melky really needs to be selective on the plate.

8:56pm Mo is coming. Yes.

8:59pm Wow! Three pitches for first strike out. Unbelievable! Will it be nicer to let Mo throw more pitches? Well, that's impossible when you consider the control and command Mo has. Mo retires the side with two strikeouts for 11 pitches(8 strikes). How can we live without Mo.

9:18pm A nice second inning work of spring training for Edwar.

9:30pm USA is behind 3-4 in the 6th inning. Jeter is on his way to be with us soon.

9:46pm Even though I want Jeter to be back with us, I am happy to see Jeter having a good at bat when runner on scoring position. Jeter gets on base.

9:58pm If USA would lose this game, it's certainly nicer for Yankees fans to see Youkilis can't come up with big hit and Jeter works out a walk.

Papelbon to Yankees after 2011?

Before I say anything, my answer is a big fat no.

No one know the future, but people always like to look ahead and try to predict the future. There are few interesting stories on Yankeesland ahead of us. After 2009, Damon, Matsui and Nady all become free agent. After 2010, Jeter and Mo enter free agency market again while Joe Girardi's contract will be expired. After 2011, Wang becomes free agent and CC will have his opt out clause. On top of that, Brian Cashman's contract will be expired.

Along the way, Roy Halladay will be available after 2010. How about Papelbon? He will become free agent after 2011 season. WEEI has a good story regard of Papelbon's contract situation after Red Sox gave out extension to Pedroia and Youkilis. Based on what I heard and saw Papelbon playing and how he acts, My answer is a big fat no about the idea of getting Papelbon to Yankees after 2011 no matter how Mo's situation plays out. I believe Mo still can pitch few more years. I don't want to see Mo leaving. After Mo, we will find our new closer. K-Rod and Papelbon are players I don't want on my Yankees team.

These two quotes from Papelbon from that story says it all about his personality,

“I’ve got a lot of money to be made in this game, whether it’s with Boston or not. My goal is to make sure I’m ready to play every day and to make money, and you can’t make money if you’re sitting on the bench. That’s the way I look at it.”

"For me, it’s a thing if I can benefit well from it and the Red Sox can benefit well from it, then I’ll do it. But if I’m not going to benefit . . . I think both parties have to be happy"

I know playing baseball is one kind of jobs. Everyone does his job to make money. However, you have to love what you do. I love players who simply loves to play baseball and passionate about winning ball game, not just about money.

In the end, the article sums it up very well regard that Papelbon wants to get paid more than Mo.

But there is a reason Rivera got his $15 million, because he represents more than just saves. The Yankees paid him for being good now, but also for being the best-ever for a team with the most money. There were other factors in play. Papelbon feels he has his own factors.

It is a unique case for a unique player.

I don't even bother to discuss or start comparison between Mo and Papelbon.

The funny thing is everyone keep saying Red Sox team have a good chemistry going among players. They play like a team unliky Yankees. I don't want player who cares about his personal stats and contract more than winning a baseball game.

Which one is the best of 2008 season in Yankeesland?

I refuse to discuss or think the bad things happened to Yankees in 2008. Let us look back to 2008 season and talk about the best thing happened to Yankees in 2008.

I struggle to come up with the conclusion which one was the best thing happened to Yankees in 2008. Was Mo's continuous incredible performance with not so good shoulder or Moose's first 20 wins season in his last season of his career?

20 wins and Cy Young Award for Moose??? Why not...

I really hope Moose and Mo get their well deserved recognitions this season on Cy Young Voting. It's great we come back to win final two games of 4 games series against Rangers.

Our pitching has been outstanding all season long. Not too much to say about our offense which has been disappeared in this 2008 campaign. I only can hope our offense will wake up in time to support our pitching staff, especially upcoming series against Angels. I know match-up doesn't favor Yankees, but you never know what will happen on the field. I have high hope on Kennedy, Giese and Pettitte.

I am so glad to see Mariners beating Rays in the walk-off fashion. When you look at Rays' road record, I believe our Yankees still have chances to get into playoff by AL East or wild card. This season looks more and more like 2005 season which three teams fight for two playoff spots until the final week of season.

Let's go Yankees!!

Send them a tape

This is the quote from our Captain, Derek Jeter, when he was asked what he thought about criticism for his defense. Ha! Jeter surely pay attention on what is going on around the world. This tells me a lot how good Jeter is on how to deal with pressure and not let those things affect his performance on the field.

When I was watching yesterday game, I yelled at my computer and said, "No, here we go, the see-eyes ground ball after that ball pass A-Rod " But, Man, What a great play Jeter made. That play is huge.

Well, By the way, Jeter got that big hit for first two runs of the game when Kazmir is on his way to get tons of strikeouts.

I actually think Jeter's range for his defense improves this season. The special workout program Jeter has for this past off-season seems to pay off in my opinion. But, for whatever reason(injury? His wrist? His shoulder), Jeter's throw just a little bit off line. This also effects him on driving the ball off the infield. The result is his offense number. I don't know, but I still believe Jeter is the least on of the players on Yankees team we need to worry about. Of course, Mo and Pettitte are on my list as well. Pettitte was great yesterday, wasn't he?

Don't even try to compare Papelbon to Mo...

Well, I can't decide to use which title. I was struggling to pick one of two titles. I was promising to use "Exciting win against RedSox" on the preview post, but I can't help to use this one. Another exciting win against RedSox, isn't it?

What the match-up is between Mo and Manny, isn't it? I was surprised at their decision not to walk Manny on that situation and screamed at my computer, but I guess don't tell HOF Mo to walk Manny! And then Papelbon was guessed right by rookie, Brett Gardner when he threw the first splitter to rookie who was waiting for. When you consider Wagner on Mets blew out another save at the same time, Mo is the best.

I am not going to go through the observation I have for Brett Gardner again. I like what I saw from him. What a series Brett Gardner has. We need real baseball players, like Jeter, Melky, Gardner, etc to win ballgame. Of course, I am not discount what other players do, but a championship team need all kind of ballplayers. Not everyone need to swipe for fence.

Joe Girardi looks like a genius for sure now. After getting threw out the game, Yankees did look like a different team. But, I think this has much to do with RedSox's horrible bullpen which no one talk about, but everyone talks about how horrible starting rotation and bullpen Yankees have.

Well, By the way, Everyone talks about how wonderful job Red Sox did to their farm system and how many wonderful young players they have. But, take a look at roster on RedSox and Yankees have. I think we are better if not for a lot of better.

Exciting win against RedSox

I am doing the same thing I was doing at Moose-Mo game. That is listening to the game. I was so nervous the whole game that lead me not to watch the game. Hopefully, I can use the same title for this final game against RedSox.

Mo is Mo, right? I can't believe my eyes Mo was able to get out of bases-loaded wiith no one out jam. I was upset when I know Moose didn't get selected for All Star game. Moose is great, isn't he?

The more I watch Gardner play, the more I like him. We need real baseball players who don't think their personal stats and swipe for fence all the time. He plays good defense with patience at bats and great speed. Yankees need to do more fundamental baseball in order to win games in October, such as grinding every at bat, playing good defense, moving runners and getting the runners in from 3rd base with less than 2 outs.

I can't believe what I just said...

You know, I was worried about Kyle Farnsworth after getting hit by that ball. It really sounds crazy, but this is exactly how I felt and I am not going to lie about it. I said this before and I will say this again. We will never find out who is the Joba's replacement if Joba is still in the bullpen. Without questions, we all know how important the decision is to move Joba into the starting rotation, especially after Wang's injury.

I start realizing we use Mo's standard to judge Kyle Farnsworth. It's not fair. We need every arm we can get to help out our bullpen, especially when you consider we lose Wang who is inning eater.

By the way, Andy is the man, right? Sometimes you just feel more comfort when you see someone on the mound. Andy is one of them on my list. Of course, Mo sits on top of my list. I just never feel nervous when they are on the mound. How cool it is if Mo wins Cy Young Award and Moose finally has his 20 wins season?

I actually feel fine Yankees finish 4-2 during this homestand. We are not going to win every game as long as we keep winning most of series.

Mo and Posada are so funny

Do you guys check out the episodes "Yankees on deck" on yesnetwork? That's is so funny. They ask Posada and Mo two questions regard of each other in order to know how well they know each other. The interaction between two is so funny. Don't miss out. Go check them out.

Mo~a legendary closer and human being.....

That’s why We all love Mo, right? Mo said He might retire if Yankees win the World Series. Don’t do that, Mo. How about getting another one? I still couldn’t image we may not see Mo pitching one day.

Thursday, December 6, 2007

Welcome back,Andy

I am so happy to be able to say this to Mo,Posada and then now Pettitte.I am glad to hear Andy Pettitte back. What a classy guy Andy is.No matter what kind of reasons change his mind,he did chose to come back when Yankees was in the most difficult situation. If Andy Pettitte were selfish person not treating team as priority,he would choose to come back when Yankees get Santana after giving up Hughes and Melky even Kennedy because he would be sure Yankee have excellent chance to get another ring. But,he didn't.He said he wanted to make sure Yankees knew they have him when they make up their plan for 2008 season. What a good guy!!!Why he chose to come back?Well,he got unstoppable calls from Jeter,Mo,Posada,Joe and mails or letters from fans.I am glad we did help you to make a decision,Andy.Welcome back,Andy.

Tuesday, November 20, 2007

Thank God!Mo is back!!!

I couldn't image Mo wear another uniform.Take one step further.I couldn't image I will watch Yankees games without Mo.I know that day will come eventually, but I don't want to face that day now.It is shame that a lot of Yankees fans even think about letting Mo go and finding another replacement during the whole negotiation process.I read an article that a source close to Mo said"Mo will sign 2 years plus one option year from beginning".I think the reason for pending offer is Mo was in Dominican Republic.Without questions,Mo and Posada are true Yankees.

I always look forward to hearing "enter sandman" when I watch Yankees games every time out.I always laugh at how humor Mo is during interview.I always remember the interview on Michael Kay show.Michael Kay asked Mo:Have you ever passed mirror and then said to yourself "OH!YA!I am the greatest closer in the MLB".Mo said:"No,I never think I am the best closer in the MLB,but you may pass mirror and said I am the best broadcaster" HA!How humor and classic guy Mo is.Mo treats himself as a leader of bullpen and always put team in front of individual.Welcome come back,Mo.

Posada is back,What a great news,But???

I am so glad to hear Posada's great news.He is back pending physical exam and then will be announced officially by New York Yankees,But how come Posada's signing news come before Mo's signing news? This gets me nervous.I kind of expect Yanks to sign Mo before signing Posada.Posada proves to us he really wants to stay with Yankees because he made a decision before hearing offers from other teams once Yankees offered him 4-year deal.

Is it something wrong on Mo's deal?Mo even said:"Yanks are my first choice, but there is always Joe and Dodgers."Mo is free agent now,so anything is possible.Mo and his agent even choose to stay out of US at this period of time which Mo is going to be free agent. The good news is Mo and his agent on their way back and Yanks already made an improved offer.Hopefully,I think too much.We can hear Mo's good news soon.
