I think Yankees notice this problem and build up a nice bench for Joe Girardi. I do think Joe Girardi will be very creative for his lineup and in-game decisions. Great. At least nice competition for backup infielder or outfielder at the spring training, right?

I think, I am going to almost agree with you. Ensberg; kills left handed pitchers and is a good fielder, can that translate to 1st base? What happens if they sign Kevin, he also hits lefty's well? Would they go with another OF, or another inf? 27/08.
I think who plays better defense at 1B may get it if everything else all equal. I really think Joe Girardi will pay more attention on defense.

You are absolutely right, defence will play a big part in it.
Right handed hitting will also be a big part of the puzzle. Perfection would be; find a right handed good hitter and fielder. In the past we have had good glove...no bat. Good bat(Jason G) no glove. We need one that will be good at both, not great...just good. 27/08
